magic on sunday: a little nudge
last week my friend adrianne forward me an email about a summer market that was looking for vendors. “you should sell your jewelry here!” she wrote.
immediately i thought to myself, “fuck.”
it was the perfect opportunity and i was completely unprepared. i have a sporadic array of pieces, and a few more i’ve been working on at a snail’s pace. “i don’t even have a website!” i wrote back to her, “but i’m going to apply…we’ll see.”
a day after i applied, i got an email back saying that i’d been accepted and i kind of felt that “fuck” feeing again, mostly because the to-do list of what i had to accomplish in the next two months materialized. but the other side of the feeling was excitement, and feeling lucky that the opportunity came my way.
and it wouldn’t have come my way if i hadn’t shared what i was working on with people close to me and putting it out in the universe, so to speak. i couldn’t pinpoint why i was dragging my feet on this project, but i'm lucky to have gotten that little nudge, one that i couldn’t seem to give myself.
now, on to that to-do list.
