magic on sunday: gimme a light ✨
thursday afternoon i found myself sitting on the floor in my agency's common area, dying of laughter.
you see, it's been a rough week - i know i don't have to tell you that. on tuesday i felt like it was one of the best days of my life: so proud, excited, and grateful to be a woman witnessing and participating in history. on wednesday, i was devastated. i spent the day in a haze, my heart heavy, barely able to really make sense of anything.
thursday felt similar until around 5:30. there was an office-wide lip sync battle, and i'm convinced that the universe knew what it was doing when a bevy of coworkers gave what was surely the performance of their lifetimes. 10 out of 10, all of them.
when it was over and i walked back to my desk, it dawned on me: i hadn't laughed or really enjoyed anything all week. not knowing it, those 30 minutes were a cleansing release, a lightness i desperately needed.
the current climate of our nation feels uncertain and distressing, but i have to remember that there’s glimmers of light, even if they’re just casual and silly.
this week, i’m reminding myself to find the light and be it when i can. manchester orchestra got me through some of the dark spots earlier in the week, but looking ahead, this week’s playlist brings a lightness we all probably need.
