magic on sunday: memories from a hammam
i’m not sure what to write to you this week. i started writing a long post about this time last year where i went to a hammam in morocco and a heavyset woman only in underwear scrubbed me and my new kiwi friend ange as we sat naked on the floor of an ancient steam house. it’s a funny story, and one i promise to tell you in real-life if you ask.
i spent most of today just kind of lounging, which is hard for someone like me (seriously, ask all the people who know me best).
i like plans and structure and knowing the next move.
but today was a wake up at 10:30, decide to make pancakes and coffee, hang around the house, do a little laundry, go to the gym, and watch reruns of community. and for most people, days like this feel mostly relaxing, but for people like me, they drive me kind of nuts.
anyways, it was me and ange’s “facebook friendship” (i think i hate that this is a thing) this week, which is what reminded me of the initial story about the hammam, so i’m listening to this week’s playlist in anticipation of a new trip. i’m thinking sometime next spring, and if you have destination suggestions, i’m all ears.
