magic on sunday: overwhelmed with women
i’m overwhelmed with women. the magnitude of us, specifically.
there’s women i know who travel the globe because they’re experts in their field.
makers who are relentless, inspiring creators.
friends who move across the country and thrive like it’s nothing.
women who take matters of their health into their own hands and know their body inside and out.
some of them have had the carpet pulled out from under them and have transformed their lives through trial, error, and a level of strength i’ve never seen.
there’s women i know who’ve turned tragedy into tribute.
i’m overwhelmed with the love that my mother has selflessly shown anyone who has ever crossed her path, and the way that my sister can shed light on those who are overlooked.
it’s awe-inspiring, the way that certain women in my life never tire of being an enduring voice of change, resistance, and equality.
i’m overwhelmed by history’s long line of women who stepped up and said, “i’ll be the first.”
working mothers in demanding fields who somehow show up fully at home and in the office are a special kind of hero.
it’s women’s history month, and i’m overwhelmed with the power and honor of what it means to be a woman in 2018.
