magic on sunday: 🌸 spring cleaning 🌷

with march nearing the end, i’ve started doing a bit of spring cleaning. it’s the kind of thing where it feels really exciting in the beginning, like, “wow, i’m going to be so organized, things are going to be so clean, my surroundings will be the embodiment of zen!”

and then you actually start getting into it and it’s…chaos.

you pull stuff out from under the bed, the closets, under the couch, and all of a sudden you’re surrounded and have to really deal with it. i have piles of random magazines, clothes i swore i was going to donate months ago, paper work and mail i’ve yet to really look at, things in cabinets that could be arranged better - you get the picture. it’s almost enough to make me feel like putting everything back into their little piles and hiding places and forget about.

but that’s kind of how it is with things we want to see through, right? like you kind of have to go through the nitty gritty of the work to get to get to the bright and shiny end goal. i’ve been struggling to make a dent in some projects that i’ve wanted to move quicker (my jewelry line), and this week’s spring cleaning frenzy got me convicted about being heads down and getting to work on all the little unglamorous details.

i know it will feel good, i know i’ll be excited to see it through, and i’m going into this week with that in mind.
