magic on sunday: sunny and familiar
hello and happy long weekend, friends. this letter is short and sweet and comes to you from sunny, hot los angeles.
as we drove around and explored the city's inner and outer spots, so much of it was already familiar. i recognized landmarks, visited places i've already been, and knew how to properly pronounce wilshire blvd. i thought about it a bit more and something dawned on me: i've been to california at least once every year since 2010.
be it work trips, girls trips, or trips with boys i thought i loved, it's somehow become a familiar and comfortable home away from home. the best part about this labor day weekend trip is that i got to spend it with two of my nearest and dearest girlfriends who recently traded nyc for sunny ca.
a city i already sort of knew and had a soft spot for, has taken on a whole new dimension and guarantees a few more yearly long weekend trips out west.
instead of the usual 7 song playlist, today's is a 60+ song long-weekend labor day mix. it perfectly describes how i feel about leaving sunny california and the end of summer.
enjoy, and happy labor day.
magic on sunday: sunny with a side of melancholy.
until sunday,
meghan
