magic on sunday: when it's good
for the past few weeks i’ve felt an extreme peace. an overwhelming calm, if you will.
things are just...good and for no particular reason.
when i realized what was going on (and being who i am), i started trying to dissect why all of a sudden i was feeling this way. how could this feeling just show up? in the midst of basically trying to find reasons to convince myself that this was just too good to be true, something stopped me. i was walking out of my apartment and as i grabbed my keys, my eyes caught sight of the note that’s been on my door since the day i moved in:
“you have who and what you need.”
i wrote that note during a season of transition and change, inspired by one of my favorite meditations by the monk thich nhat hanh:
“all of the wonderful things
that you are looking for -
happiness, peace, and joy -
can be found inside of you.
you do not need to look
anywhere else.”
it was a welcomed and abrupt shift. a note-to-self to accept and know that this peace has always existed within my own being.
i'll challenge you to do the same. let this week’s playlist guide you to uncover little signs of peace, knowing that you actually already possess it.
