Meghan!! Mentions aside, I love this sweet snippet into the growing relationship between you and Zora. I resonated with your note then and resonate with this piece so so much. Like, I want to annotate and comment on the whole thing 😂
“this current chapter is providing the most breathing room I’ve had postpartum…and grounded. Without all that noise, it’s been easier to notice the delights of parenthood…” this felt particularly poignant!
And I loved the scene you gave us — the inside jokes are the best!
Inside jokes are so fun. I really feel like I'm getting a chance to...heal my inner child? Like bring all the silliness out?? What a gift! I'm so glad it resonated, thank YOU for the inspiration!
Honestly I found the newborn stage just relentlessly boring but from 18 months/2 years everything is just magical! And it just gets better as they get older. We now spend every Sunday morning watching a 'show' my two girls have come up with where they set Alexa to play Katy Perry and dance around - best part of the weekend no matter the hour!
Ahh, that sounds SOOO delightful. So cool to see that personality grow. Yesterday I was pushing Zora in the stroller on the way to a store and she was just singing her heart out to whatever song came to her mind. I had a smile cemented on my face the whole time.
I was lucky to do 18 months of mat leave, and was pushed me to do it was friends telling me it gets more fun after they turn one. This represents exactly why to me: the routine changes slow down considerably, the communication explodes and there’s more stability overall for you to enjoy moments together.
SO fun! I needed someone to tell me this when I was in the thick of it. My heart stops everytime I see a photo of my little one as a fresh baby AND I'm so thankful to be in this stage. She's so fun to be around.
It is so magical!! And there will be more of these little realizations at ages to come. My 6 year old crawled into bed with me this morning while I was hiding from my loud family sipping my coffee and we just had the most delightful chat about nothing! I was thinking the other day about how she's reached another one of these stages I can't quite describe, where it feels like we've entered a new era of increased mutual enjoyment!
I love this so much, I can envision it! It sounds absolutely cozy and delightful <3. I used to tell my college housemates that I wanted to give birth and automatically have a 7 year old, I always thought it would be a fun age. Happy to hear this report for what's to come in a few years.
Ah this is so lovely! I found the newborn stage a bit lonely because it’s basically a one way street. You are feeding, changing, rocking, settling and chatting away to a sentient potato. It’s very rewarding when it becomes a two way street!

Oh it made my heart sing to read your water anecdote, I absolutely live for those moments!
Right? They're moments I never would have imagined to bring me pure joy before I had a kid. It's so special!

What an amazing experience! And you’re right, that’s stability later on really makes it so much more easy to enjoy the time.
Loved this!!💕💕💕
Thank you Samara <3 I'm glad it resonated!
Little babies are great but something happens when they start to walk around that makes them so fun to hang with.
